MERRIL FEINSTEIN, MSEd

DIRECTOR

We believe that every child is unique, presenting with distinct sensibilities, aptitudes, and predilections. However, all children are natural explorers. They learn by establishing relationships with the people, objects, and events in their environment. Using provocations, open-ended materials and intentional activities, our goal is for children to feel comfortable and confident as they explore freely, learn broadly and meet appropriate challenges accordingly. Our unconditional respect for children supports their right to explore and discover their universe at their own unique pace. We structure days at school to honor the natural rhythms of children and to prepare them for life after nursery school. All this is accomplished while highlighting Jewish values and rituals.

Choosing a private nursery school in New York City can challenge even the most resolute New Yorkers. At Brotherhood we aim to make the process less daunting. Please join me for a small-group tour. You will learn about our programs and have an opportunity to ask questions about our school, about the Brotherhood community and discover if we are a good fit for your child and for your family. Tours take place in October and November and we will make time for all who want to visit during the admissions season. Visit other sections of this site to learn more about Brotherhood.

We look forward to meeting you,
